No longer a world away. Two years on from the February 22 Earthquake, fashion label WORLD has finally returned to Christchurch’s central city, and is now located on the fashion floor at Ballantynes. Managing director Mary Devine said “we feel privileged to have an iconic and fabulous brand such as WORLD within our store.”
After the earthquake claimed the historic location in High Street WORLD has remained committed to returning to Christchurch and providing Canterbury Customers with colourful and unique styling.
From its humble beginnings World has taken on the world and blazed a trail of "firsts" for New Zealand fashion. Francis Hooper and Denise L’Estrange-Corbet brought together design and technical skills to found New Zealand women’s label World back in 1989.
The Auckland-based fashion house is best known for its colourful, imaginative clothes that break boundaries while remaining completely wearable. World style combines impeccable tailoring with luxury design. World is different because the "stores were just an extension of who we are” says Denise L’Estrange-Corbet – our Christchurch concept store located in Ballantynes is no exception.”
